Function: Operations

Department: Investment Performance

Purpose: The Investment Performance Team is responsible for performance calculation, measurement and comprehensive assessment of investment performance across our full range of products including funds and client portfolios. The team is the first point of contact for performance related enquiries and works in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders such as senior management, investment managers, client directors, risk, sales and distribution teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Prioritise and co-ordinate the timely and accurate calculation of performance analysis across the range of GAM funds and mandates.
  • Analyse and effectively communicate the drivers of performance to the investment teams, product and sales teams.
  • Work with distribution teams to support them in RFP’s/client request, in relation to analysis of performance, ex-post risk, turnover and other related statistics.
  • Formulate recommendations for system/process improvements to deliver optimal efficiency for the team, resulting in better deliverable times for clients.
  • Support cross-training and rotation of staff members to ensure ‘key-person risk‘ is minimal.
  • Ensure suitable cover is available for all assigned responsibilities in the event of both scheduled and unscheduled staff absence.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years demonstrable experience in a performance analysis role at an investment management firm is essential.
  • Solid experience with investment systems such as SimCorp Dimension, FactSet, or Bloomberg PORT. Experience with SimCorp Dimension is desirable but not essential.
  • Good understanding of Equity, Fixed Income, Alternatives and Multi Asset products essential.
  • Solid understanding of GIPS.
  • Demonstrates a solid grasp of the interdependencies between middle- and back-office functions and the performance team’s activities.
  • Ability to work independently within a team-based environment demonstrating effective prioritisation skills.

  • The candidate should be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and working effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written.
