What you'll do

  • Provide on-site technical support for Galvion's field equipment, ensuring that all gear is operational and meets safety standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of equipment to identify potential issues before they arise, minimizing downtime for end-users.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to relay field feedback and contribute to the continuous improvement of equipment design and functionality.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users on the proper use and maintenance of equipment, ensuring they are well-prepared for operational scenarios.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of field trials, gathering data and insights that will inform product enhancements and new developments.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance activities, and repairs, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and internal teams, addressing any concerns or inquiries regarding equipment performance and functionality.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in field equipment technology, integrating best practices into your work to enhance service delivery.
  • Provide recommendations for equipment upgrades and replacements based on field observations and user feedback.
  • Support logistics and inventory management for field equipment, ensuring that all necessary tools and parts are available for maintenance and repairs.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments related to field equipment, ensuring that all operations adhere to safety protocols.
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation and user manuals to support the effective use of equipment in the field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical support role.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in field service, technical support, or equipment maintenance, preferably in a defense or tactical environment.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electronic systems, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical users.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to various field locations, sometimes in challenging environments.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices related to equipment use and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for equipment analysis and repair.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to obtain necessary security clearances as required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with military or tactical equipment, particularly in a field support capacity.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and experience in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality assurance processes related to equipment maintenance.
  • Previous experience in training or instructional roles, particularly in technical subjects.
  • Certification in relevant technical fields, such as electronics or mechanical repair.

Skills & tools

  • Proficient in the use of diagnostic and maintenance tools, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic testing equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and equipment management software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Knowledge of safety management systems and risk assessment methodologies.
