What you’ll do
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Utilize various measurement tools and techniques to assess product specifications and tolerances.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records of quality control activities.
- Collaborate with production teams to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes for non-conforming products.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance procedures and protocols.
- Support training initiatives for team members on quality standards and inspection techniques.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality benchmarks and safety regulations.
- Prepare reports on quality metrics and trends to inform management decisions.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Act as a liaison between quality assurance and production departments to foster a culture of quality throughout the organization.
- Stay updated on industry standards and best practices to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in quality control or a related field is a plus.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality inspection role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies and tools, such as ISO standards or Six Sigma.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Proficient in using measurement instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and document findings.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software.
Nice to have
- Certification in quality control or quality assurance (e.g., CQI, CQA).
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing setting.
- Previous experience in the defense or aerospace industries is a plus.
