Responsibilities
- Install roof‑mounted solar PV systems across domestic and commercial properties.
- Carry out roofing works related to renewable installations, including mounting systems, flashing, waterproofing, and making good.
- Ensure roof penetrations and mounting points are installed correctly and remain fully weather‑tight.
- Work collaboratively with electrical engineers and wider site teams to ensure smooth, efficient installations.
- Support O & M work including inspections, remedial roofing repairs, and array‑related roof issues.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in full compliance with health & safety requirements.
- Deliver installations to a consistently high standard, on time and cost‑effectively.
- Maintain full compliance with all health & safety obligations, both corporate and legal.
- Apply TLGEC methodology and always adhere to site standards.
- Use materials and resources efficiently, supporting smooth project delivery.
- Ensure project documents and site records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of RAMS and all required project documentation.
What we’re looking for
- Strong roofing experience, ideally across both pitched and flat roofing systems.
- Confident working with solar mounting systems and roof penetrations (or willing to be trained).
- Excellent understanding of waterproofing, flashing, and making‑good practices.
- Confident using the power tools and hand tools common to roofing and construction work.
- Strong troubleshooting ability with a proactive approach to resolving on‑site issues.
- Comfortable working at height and consistently following safe systems of work.
- High standards, pride in workmanship, and a professional attitude.
Extra Credit
- Trade qualification in roofing or construction (e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ).
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Certified harness use and safe working at heights.
- Site Supervisors Safety Training Scheme or Site Management Safety Training Scheme certified.
- License to operate telehandlers, scissor lifts, and forklifts.
- Experience in installing solar photovoltaic mounting systems.
- Skilled in working on commercial rooftops, plant rooms, or larger construction sites.
