At Galloways Bakers we are passionate about our quality pies, pasties, confectionery, breakfasts and filled rolls and delivering the highest standards to our customers. We are a family run business which is always evolving and looking for people to join us in our success and become part of the future. We are looking for experienced Area Managers to ensure daily running of our 23 shops. This role will be field based, but you could be asked to work at any of our shops.
Contracts are in excess of 40+ hours. You need to be available between Sunday and Saturday and contactable 24/7. You need to be able to drive with a car provided following a successful probationary period or expenses paid if own car preferred.
Area Manager duties include:
- Working closely with the company director.
- Managing and supporting the overall retail business, ensuring smooth running of stores and providing swift issue resolution if necessary.
- Organizing and managing retail staff with responsibility for rota’s, holidays and sickness/absence.
- Managing retail staff with responsibility for all disciplinary matters.
- Ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed to ensure we are trading safely and legally.
- Ensuring our retail outlets maintain high levels of cleanliness.
- Providing training and guidance.
- Baked savouries are our specialty so may involve baking on certain days.
- Liaising with the company directors, bakery managers and office staff during your shift.
- Assisting with the implementation of our new food safety policy.
- Involvement with the induction process of our new shop staff.
About you:
- You have experience in similar management roles.
- You have extensive experience in the food industry preferably retail.
- The ability and experience to train and mentor a team of new or existing staff.
- The ability to manage change, communicate with people and maintain the companies highest standards of customer service that our loyal customers expect and deserve.
- Passion and drive to keep our stores performing in line with our business plan following all company policies and procedures.
- You have experience with multi-site food outlets.
- Must be highly flexible as holiday and sickness cover will be required.
