A Taste of What You'll Do

As a Seasonal Lab Aide, you will support the Chemistry group during a critical and fast‑paced part of the production cycle. Working under direct supervision, you will provide routine laboratory assistance that helps ensure grape samples are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. Your efforts will directly support analytical workflows that inform winemaking and production decisions. In this role, you will assist with grape processing activities such as de‑stemming, juicing, and grinding, while also helping organise, label, log in, and prepare samples for analysis. You will play an important role in maintaining an orderly and clean laboratory environment by participating in routine lab maintenance, sanitising equipment, and ensuring adequate supplies are available. Attention to detail and consistency are essential, as sample integrity and accurate results are critical to the team’s success. You may also participate in field work and will assist with sorting and preparing grape sample results. This seasonal position requires flexibility, reliability, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental standards. What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus previous GALLO experience OR High School diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus previous winery or vineyard experience.
  • Required to be at least 18 years of age.
  • Required to work overtime, weekends, and any shift, when needed.
  • The position requires seasonal availability for a 6 day work week (4 - 6 hours per day).
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Skilled in writing simple correspondence.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation.

How You'll Stand Out

  • Experience in a laboratory or production environment.
  • Skilled in the use of MS Word and Excel.
  • Candidates for this position must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Required to obtain a California driver’s license or appropriate state driver’s license within 30 days of hire.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English preferred.

Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. In addition to the salary, this position may be eligible for bonuses, incentive plans, or participate in tasting room tip pools, as applicable. This position will be based in the location(s) specified in the job posting and requires working on-site with no telecommuting option. You will be expected to live within a commutable distance.
