As Senior Temporary Works Design Engineer you will be responsible for all activities associated with the production of Temporary Works Design in compliance with the Business Management Systems (BMS) and CDM regulations, as part of a team providing design and design checking services for a full range of temporary works from excavations and working platforms to formwork, falsework & scaffolding. The services also include alternative solutions, value engineering, buildability and problem/defect resolution including specification compliance issues.

- Design Production
- Tender input and subcontractor appointment
- Subcontractor design and coordination
- Construction, Design and Management (CDM)
- Design risk and assumptions
- Identify improvements to the Galliford Try systems, processes and procedures
About You:
- Civil or Structural Engineering Degree (2:1 or higher)
- Gain working knowledge of aspects and law, including The Health and Safety at Work etc Act and CDM.
- Good knowledge of structural mechanics and understanding of fundamentals of soil mechanics.
- Previous design experience either working for a contractor, subcontractor, specialist supplier or consultant.
- Computer literate preferably including experience of use of computer aided draughting & geotechnical/structural analysis software.
- Willingness to work towards membership of relevant professional institution (e.g., IStructE).
