The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Estimator to join the team at Galliford Try within our Oak Fire Protection Business. Ideally, you will be based in or around the Uxbridge or Romford area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.

What you will be doing:

  • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
  • Analyse project drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labour estimates.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain up-to-date pricing and availability.
  • Support the Senior Estimator in compiling bid packages and submitting proposals.
  • Maintain organized records of all estimating documents and correspondence.
  • Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as required.
  • Assist with quantity take-offs and measurement tasks.
  • Help evaluate project risks and opportunities from a cost perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and deadlines.

About You:

  • Previous experience in estimating, construction, or project management, or have an interest in developing into this role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications is preferred but not essential for this role.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced environment.
