Discipline Manager - (Mechanical / Water Based Projects)

What you will be doing:
As a Discipline Manager you will be an important member of the Engineering Management Team and will be required to work with the other members of the Engineering Management Team and Design Teams, to ensure the discipline design is delivered to highest quality in line with GT process and in compliance with the BMS and CDM Regulations. You will also assist in developing and implementing any initiatives through the Engineering Business. This is a technical role which requires significant experience and a strong track record in technical design delivery in the water and wastewater industry. You will be responsible for forming and chairing a UK wide discipline forum to disseminate knowledge, encourage learning and networking and create a community of best practice and championing technical excellence. As well as providing direction and promoting innovation, you will be expected to undertake engineering governance of the discipline design activities, ensuring that design integrates with the other discipline design production activities, providing technical support to the supply chain procurement activities and supporting site activities as required. It is anticipated that 80% of your time will be spent on project related activities or other value adding initiatives as directed by the Engineering Leadership Team.
About You:
- Extensive experience in a contracting / consulting environment
- Educated to Degree level in Engineering or other equivalent qualification
- Excellent knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering design
- Recognised as an expert within discipline
- Excellent knowledge of the Water Industry
- Good Commercial and Contractual awareness
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong preference for Chartered Member of a relevant engineering institution.
