Gallery FUMI is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, dedicated Gallery Projects & Production Assistant with previous experience working in a similar commercial gallery role. This is a junior full-time position and would suit an individual looking to develop their skills in the contemporary design scene.

The selected candidate will have had an education and experience in contemporary art/design. The ideal candidate has a keen interest in developing skills in coordinating bespoke commissions, producing marketing material and fair and exhibitions administration.

Location: Mayfair, London

Hours: Monday - Friday 10AM – 6:30PM (incl 1 Saturday a month 11AM - 6PM)

Requirements

  • Enthusiastic and passionate about contemporary design
  • Minimum of 1 year working in a commercial gallery environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of software such as SketchUp or similar for creating exhibition renders
  • Strong knowledge of Adobe: InDesign and Photoshop
  • Preferred experience of working with ArtLogic or similar gallery database platform
  • Good proofreading and editorial skills
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong creative eye
  • Willingness to learn

  • Ability to take direction and work hard
  • Based within commutable distance to London
  • The right to live and work in the UK
  • Fluent in written and spoken English

Qualifications

  • BA or MA in an arts or design related subject

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in production support for commissions: providing technical support; liaising with artists, clients and external contractors.
  • Assisting with editing photographs for press content and creating catalogues.
  • Creating exhibition renders (2D/3D) and mock-ups for clients.
  • Assisting with preparing catalogues, books and invitations.
  • Assisting with social media; website maintenance; updating artist CVs.
  • Assisting with organisation of artists samples.
  • General gallery errands, administration and housekeeping tasks.
  • Assisting with physical set up and take down of shows.
  • Front of house: welcoming clients and answering phone.
  • When required, acting as PA to the directors.
