Gallery FUMI is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, dedicated Gallery Assistant with previous experience working in a gallery environment.
The ideal candidate will have had an education and experience in contemporary design/art. The candidate will act as a key support in all areas of the business.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in working in a gallery environment
- Experience welcoming customers and providing general information
- Enthusiastic and passionate about contemporary design
- If English is not your first language, you must be fluent
- Knowledge of French preferred
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience of working with ArtLogic or similar gallery database platform
- Willingness to learn
- Ability to take direction and work hard
- Excellent collaborator
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for first impression of gallery space including general tidiness and appearance
- Assisting with physical set up and take down of shows
- Front of house: welcoming clients and answering phone
- Assisting with organisation of private views and events
- General gallery errands as needed
- Assisting with organisation of artists samples
- Assisting registrar with internal/external shipments
- Entering details of new and existing clients, keeping database updated
- Supporting the Gallery team in preparation of sales communications
- Assisting with preparing and sending invitations, catalogues and books
