The Galleries Medical Practice is currently recruiting for a qualified Nurse Associate or Trainee Nurse Associate with experience of working in General Practice. The role will be solely based at Galleries Medical Practice working under the supervision of Senior Advanced Nurse Practitioner. This is a full-time permanent post. Salary: Based on experience and skills.

Main duties of the job:

  • Be responsible for delivering high quality, patient centred, compassionate care under the direction of a Practice Nurse with a focus on promoting health and independence.
  • Be an accountable professional.
  • Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
  • Carry out specific clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction of a Community Link Nurse.
  • Have the ability to work without direct supervision at times, delivering care independently in line with a patient's defined plan of care, within the scope of practice expected of a Nurse Associate/ Trainee Nurse Associate role.

Job responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional portfolio, identifying role and skill developments in line with the NMC Code of professional practice.
  • Keep up to date with current national developments in nursing practice and policy.
  • Ensure NMC revalidation requirements are met.
  • Contribute to PCN wide / departmental policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional appearance.
  • Uphold GMP values and behave in a manner fitting with the responsible position of the post holder, maintaining public confidence and reputation for delivering excellent care.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with staff and respect the equality and diversity of each and every person he/she comes into contact with in the course of his/her business.
  • Have proficient attitudes and behaviours compatible with NHS Values.
  • Work as part of a designated clinical and care team delivering care that focuses on the direct needs of the individual.
  • Carry out specific delegated clinical and care tasks and responsibilities to a high standard and competency, under the direction and supervision of Practice Nurses or other registered care professionals depending on setting.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience of working in General Practice in health and care settings is essential.
  • Registered Nurse Associate on the NMC register or currently completing the Trainee Nurse Associate Course.
  • Care Certificate.
  • Educated to a minimum level 5 foundation degree specific to nursing associate practice.
  • GCSE level 4-9 in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Experience of working in General Practice and understanding of the scope of the role of the Nurse Associate or Trainee Nurse Associate in context of the team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player under appropriate supervision, and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Insight into how to evaluate own strengths and development needs, seeking advice where appropriate.
  • Evidence of time management skills and ability to prioritise.
  • IT skills appropriate to the role.
  • Ability to communicate with members of the public and health and care providers.
  • Courteous, respectful and helpful at all times.
  • Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of the workload and individual patient contact.
  • Ability to work on own initiative, be well motivated and motivate others.
  • Ability to take part in reflective practice and clinical supervision activities.
  • Able to demonstrate resilience, managing personal emotions and stress.
  • Knowledge of when to seek advice and refer to a registered care professional.
  • Ability to engage and complete preceptorship.
  • Understanding of evidence based practice.
  • Understanding of the importance of the promotion of health and wellbeing (Making Every Contact Count) and willing to progress in role with training.
