An exciting opportunity has arisen for a BIM Technician to join our Head Office team. The BIM Technician will be responsible for supporting the tender and construction stages by executing BIM-related tasks, ensuring high-quality digital construction workflows, and maintaining compliance with industry standards. To be considered for this position you must come from a civil or structural engineering background.
Key Accountabilities
- Utilise Building Information Modelling (BIM) to execute project tasks, including construction sequencing, logistics presentation, and clash detection.
- Assist in developing and maintaining accurate BIM models in line with company standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate BIM processes effectively across various disciplines.
- Ensure adherence to UK BIM standards (e.g., ISO 19650) and industry best practices.
- Support the enhancement of BIM data management and digital construction capabilities.
- Provide training and guidance on BIM processes to junior team members where required.
Experience/Knowledge
- Demonstrable experience using BIM software and tools within the construction industry.
- Working knowledge of industry-leading software such as Revit, Microstation, SketchUp, Civil 3D and BIM-enabling applications.
- Experience in civil or structural engineering.
Skills
- Proficiency in SketchUp, Revit and other BIM software.
- Familiarity with 4D planning software such as Asta BIM or Synchro Pro.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent IT skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills for effective coordination with stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Relevant BIM-related qualification, certification, or training.
- Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
