The Opportunity

We're looking for a Business Development Manager – High Security to develop and execute growth strategies across Government and Defence verticals. This is a commercially focused role centred on identifying, nurturing, and closing profitable long-term opportunities with enterprise end users, consultants, and key influencers. This is a true strategic business development role. You’ll create demand, build pipeline, negotiate and close deals, and help shape Gallagher’s presence in complex, high-security markets. Working closely with regional sales, solution, and technical specialists, you’ll lead from a position of insight and trust to support customers through strategic growth, solution design, and successful delivery.

Your role at a glance:

  • Develop and execute agreed growth strategies across Government and Defence verticals.
  • Analyse industry trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform business growth strategies.
  • Identify, qualify, nurture, negotiate, and close profitable long-term business opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships with enterprise end users, major accounts, consultants, and key industry influencers.
  • Drive new business while expanding existing relationships in priority high-security markets.
  • Lead end-user presentations, strategic account discussions, and solution conversations with support from technical specialists.
  • Support RFIs, RFQs, tenders, customer requests, pricing agreements, and service-level discussions.
  • Maintain strong CRM discipline, forecasting, reporting, and account planning.

The Fit

We’re looking for a commercially sharp sales professional who thrives in complex enterprise environments and knows how to build credibility with senior stakeholders. You’ll bring strong business development discipline, curiosity about customer challenges, and the confidence to translate technical solutions into clear commercial value.

What you’ll bring:

  • At least 5 years’ proven B2B sales experience, ideally within technology, security, or a related solutions-led environment.
  • Strong business development capability, including prospecting, lead generation, opportunity qualification, and closing deals.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers, major accounts, consultants, or key influencers in complex buying environments.
  • Solution-selling experience and the ability to grasp and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Commercial confidence across negotiation, forecasting, CRM discipline, account planning, and strategic pipeline management.
  • Strong analytical and relationship management skills.
  • A collaborative, results-driven approach with high integrity and accountability.
