We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technical Recovery Claims Handler to join our corporate client-specific motor claims handling team. The successful candidate will handle their own caseload and provide technical support across the department to handlers, supporting Deputy Claims Managers and/or Claims Managers.

How you will make an impact:

  • Maintain an ongoing claims portfolio to exemplary standards
  • Conduct telephone and correspondence negotiations with third parties, third-party insurers, and third-party representatives to agree on settlements promptly
  • Ensure full compliance with all office protocols, client service level agreements, and client key performance indicators for all handled claims, and The Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Achieve 100% data integrity compliance on the office case management system
  • Handle higher value, complex, and client-sensitive claims
  • Act as a technical and procedural referral for claims handlers
  • Assist the recovery department with technical referrals for litigation queries from handlers and review and approve litigation documents for technical handlers.
  • Monitor and control the litigated department portfolio when cases are listed for trial, working with handlers to ensure positive results
  • Assist Deputy Claims Managers and/or Claims Managers with progression reviews and aid handler development through the technical progression program
  • Ensure all technical handlers maximise legal cost revenue on higher value claims
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and mentoring/coaching on a one-to-one basis
  • Provide technical assistance or training to any Strata office as needed, supporting with auditing as required to achieve consistency of delivery

About You:

  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent (Desirable)
  • Claims handling experience in an insurance/claims management environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
