We are looking for an experienced Senior Claims Handler to join our Travel Claims team on a fully remote basis. In this role, you will manage a varied caseload of travel insurance claims, ensuring claims are investigated, assessed and resolved fairly, efficiently and in line with policy terms and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced travel claims professional looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and well established organisation. Working Hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm.
How you'll make an impact:
- Manage a portfolio of travel insurance claims from notification through to settlement.
- Review claim documentation, policy coverage and supporting evidence to determine appropriate outcomes.
- Investigate complex claims, gathering additional information where required and making informed liability and indemnity decisions.
- Communicate with customers, medical providers, insurers and other third parties throughout the claims process.
- Provide clear and professional guidance to customers, explaining claim decisions and managing expectations.
- Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with policy wording, regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up to date claim records and documentation.
- Support and mentor less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and providing guidance where appropriate.
About You:
- Previous experience handling travel insurance claims is essential.
- Experience managing claims from first notification through to settlement.
- Strong understanding of travel insurance policies, claim investigations and coverage assessments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong decision making, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage a workload effectively, prioritise tasks and meet service standards.
- Demonstrable experience handling sensitive or complex customer conversations with empathy and professionalism.
- Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
