How you’ll make an impact:

  • Analyses insurance claims to report on the level of related liability in an accurate, comprehensive and timely manner.
  • Makes approval or denial decisions regarding claims, and negotiating settlements with claimants in accordance with provided policy or guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting digital or onsite assessments to establish cause and quantum of insurance claims;
  • Composing and submitting reports which summarise assessments and make recommendations for the acceptance/declinature of the claim, based on the policy;
  • Compiling, promoting and supporting Suppliers with our requirements at all times;
  • Requesting quotations as required and liaising with repairers in respect of works to be completed;
  • Compiling high quality detailed scope of works, loss schedules and photographic evidence;
  • Obtaining high quality information by investigation so as to be able to properly conclude on policy liability, legal liability, quantum, and subrogation and risk management issues in compliance with prevailing client requirements;
  • Examining, inspecting, and assessing the damage and loss of insured properties and businesses;
  • Manages a small case load of large loss claims which will involve liaising with engineers, quantity surveyors, architects, builders and the customer through to completion;
  • Makes recommendations for the acceptance/declinature of the insurance claim, based on the Customer’s insurance policy;
  • Estimates insurance costs and inspecting insured properties in order to evaluate the conditions that affect underwriting standards.

About You:

Required:
  • High School diploma or commensurate experience; 3 years' minimum related experience.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy i.e. Microsoft Office Suite, ability to learn new systems.
  • Ability to understand and apply the relevant Laws, Codes, guidelines as part of the assessment.
  • Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled.
Desired:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager, Assessor or Loss Adjuster is desirable.
  • Knowledge of insurance operational processes, practices and risk management.
