In coordination with the Director of Education or Program Leader, the Course Leader is responsible for supporting the management and coordination of assigned courses, ensuring compliance with academic standards and accreditation requirements. Additionally, the Course Leader plays a key role in the development and delivery of online and blended learning, incorporating innovative digital teaching strategies, enhancing student engagement and ensuring accessibility and inclusivity in virtual learning environments.
Responsibilities
- Courses Management Support
- Coordinate and quality‑assure courses within the assigned teaching area.
- Develop course content and material, ensuring that academic and scientific results meet required standards.
- Assist the Director of Education or Program Leader in maintaining accreditation requirements and delivering high‑quality educational outcomes.
- Participate in organising and monitoring course assessments and student performance.
- Faculty Management Support
- Support the Director of Education or Program Leader in managing the faculty for the assigned teaching area.
- Collaborate in monitoring academic activities in terms of teaching quality standards and students’ experience.
- Assist in the recruitment process for new academic staff and provide feedback on teaching performance.
- Students’ Tutoring & Supervision
- Support students’ academic success through regular tutoring activities and academic supervision.
- Ensure consistent support throughout studies, including thesis work and other key projects.
- Review student feedback collected through student voice to improve learning experience and achieve satisfaction goals.
- Utilise virtual learning environments to enhance learning, foster collaboration and provide timely feedback.
- Advocate integration of emerging digital learning technologies, including AI, adaptive learning and immersive tools.
- Curriculum Development & Enhancement
- Actively contribute to development and enhancement of curriculum, ensuring alignment with academic and industry standards.
- Support revisions of course content, assessments, delivery methods and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Director of Education or Program Leader to implement changes based on feedback from students and industry partners.
- Support integration of innovative teaching methods to maintain relevance within the luxury sector.
- Academic & Industry Projects
- Support the Director of Education or Program Leader in implementing academic projects in partnership with the luxury sector.
- Coordinate industry visits, exhibitions and events that connect academic learning with industry practice.
- Research & Development – CV Development
- Develop own academic profile in line with institutional expectations.
- Participate in professional development activities and encourage continuous learning within the teaching team.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of trends and best practices in relevant academic and industry sectors.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (minimum).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the UK Higher Education sector in an academic role.
- Knowledge of the fashion design industry across a range of company contexts.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Leadership, effectiveness and responsiveness approach.
- Excellent communication, public speaking and organisational skills.
- Flexibility and ability to manage unforeseen events.
- IT knowledge: Adobe, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Mac.
- Desirable: Knowledge and experience with digital learning and online delivery.
