REPORTING TO: The Rabbit Conference & Banqueting Manager

HOURS: Hours/days are dependent upon the Conference & Banqueting Calendar. Typical shift pattern 2pm-1am (start/finish time may vary). Based on 4-5 days a week.

JOB LOCATION: The Rabbit, Templepatrick 882 Antrim Road, Templepatrick, Ballyclare.

About the role: One of Northern Ireland’s most iconic wedding venues; The Loft, Templepatrick offers an alternative setting. With a One Wedding A Day policy, The Loft is available for up to 140 guests offering an environment of unabridged luxury. Guests can dine family-style under the high vaulted ceilings; enjoy our spacious outdoor terrace that overlooks a charming lake before the evening festivities get underway.

As a Food and Beverage Assistant, you will join a fantastic, dedicated Conference & Banqueting team focused only on delivering tiptop service to all our visiting guests. We encourage everyone to bring their own personality and passion to work every day. Main duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming all guests to the Loft in a friendly, polite manner.
  • Serving food and beverage in a variety of settings and styles.
  • Following the daily order of events as directed by the Conference & Banqueting Manager.
  • Using the hotel till systems to place orders and process customer payments correctly.
  • With training, have full and complete knowledge of all food/beverage and wine menus enabling you to help with any guest or customer queries.
  • Take food and beverage orders, serve professionally and efficiently ensuring all guests have everything they need.
  • Cleaning and resetting tables and ensuring all areas of the Loft are neat and tidy.
  • Carrying out all other daily duties as required by the Conference & Banqueting management team.
  • Directing any customer complaints to the Conference & Banqueting Manager.
  • Ensuring that your knowledge of the Hotel and facilities is up to date in order to upsell to guests if the opportunity arises.
  • Making sure your personal appearance and uniform are in line with the required Hotel standards at all times.
  • Observe all Company and Statutory Fire, Health, Safety, and Hygiene Regulations.
  • Attend any training that has been set up to aid your personal development.

Applicant Essential Criteria:

  • Have a passion for the hospitality industry, great food, and great service.
  • Have at least 1 year previous waiting experience in a bar/restaurant/hotel.
  • Previous experience within other areas of the hospitality sector (desirable).
  • Be an excellent team player with a positive and friendly attitude.
  • Have a flexible approach to working shift patterns and be available to work morning, daytime, evenings, and weekends.
  • Have strong communication skills and be able to multi-task.
  • Have a sense of pride in the delivery of high standards of presentation, hygiene, and the Galgorm Collection brand.
