Job Purpose:
Reporting to the O&M Area Manager, you will be responsible for delivering scheduled and unscheduled maintenance services on Vestas wind turbines, with a preference for experience on V80 models. You will play a critical role in ensuring turbine performance, availability, and safety standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance & Fault Rectification:
- Conduct scheduled maintenance in line with the manufacturer\’s guidelines.
- Fault-find, troubleshoot, and repair wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic assemblies, and major components.
- Perform proactive component repairs or replacements to prevent turbine downtime.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety requirements, including the Wind Turbine Safety Rules (WTSR).
- Maintain the highest levels of safety standards on-site.
- On-Call Support:
- Participate in a weekend on-call rota to respond promptly to turbine faults.
- Inventory Management:
- Coordinate and manage local spare parts and consumable stock.
- Communication:
- Effectively communicate with team members, managers, and clients to ensure efficient operations and clear reporting.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in the wind energy industry, particularly with Vestas turbines, with preference for V80 experience.
- In-depth knowledge of wind turbine technology, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks and make decisions in fast-paced environments.
- High level of physical fitness and ability to work in challenging conditions.
- Full UK driving licence.
