AutoCAD Draftsman (3-month contract)
We’re seeking a skilled CAD draughtsman to join our team at Galebreaker on a short term contract due to existing projects in businessAs a CAD draughtsman, you will prepare detailed technical drawings for various projects. You will work closely with technicians and production to ensure that all specifications and designs adhere to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing detailed 2D CAD drawings, designs, and models for various engineering design and drafting projects.
- Collaborating with technicians, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and specifications.
- Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings and specifications to produce accurate drafts.
- Modifying existing drawings as needed to accommodate bespoke design of our products.
- Using customers 2D, 3D or PDF structural drawings to produce boundary drawings with Galebreaker products.
- Convert hand sketches and verbal instructions into accurate CAD drawings.
- Prepare layouts, detailed drawings, and assembly diagrams for installation or manufacturing.
- Coordinate with project managers and team to ensure timely completion of work.
- Conducting quality checks on drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintaining updated and organised records of all design files, revisions, and project documentation systematically.
Skills, knowledge & experience required
- Diploma or degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field is desirable.
- 2+ years of experience as a CAD Draughtsman or in a similar drafting role.
- Proficiency in using CAD software, ideally AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar tools.
- Solid technical drawing skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good understanding of engineering design, construction, and architectural drafting principles.
- Ability to interpret and work with complex technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with different teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and engineering principles is desirable
Specific requirements
- Training of Galebreaker products to be given at head office. License to work from home once project timeframe has been confirmed.
- Drafting experience in industries such as engineering, architecture, and manufacturing.
- Relevant certification in CAD software or drafting techniques is desirable
- Experience in construction documentation and project management is desirable
