What you'll do
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop comprehensive building enclosure designs that meet project specifications and codes.
- Conduct thorough analyses of structural systems to ensure they're safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for building enclosure components, including walls, roofs, and windows.
- Perform field inspections and assessments of existing structures to evaluate their condition and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Utilize advanced software tools for modeling and simulation to optimize building performance and energy efficiency.
- Engage in project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely project delivery.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and technologies to continually enhance design practices and methodologies.
- Participate in client meetings to present design concepts, address concerns, and provide expert advice on building enclosure systems.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in building enclosure and structural engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and best practices related to building enclosure design.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Familiarity with sustainable design practices and materials is a plus.

Skills & tools
