Our client, a profitable fintech building the financial command centre for the mass affluent, is seeking a Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of one of three major product frontiers. This role is hands-on, high-impact, and gives you real ownership. If you want to work on meaningful problems with depth, influence and visibility, this one is for you.

The Practical Bits

  • Role: Senior Product Designer
  • Location: London (Hybrid – ~2 days/week)
  • Package: ~£90k base + strong annual discretionary bonus (Averaging 20%)
  • Domain: Fintech - wealth, savings, investments, net worth
  • Team: Small, senior, design-led product team
  • Stage: Profitable fintech with significant growth ahead

The Client

Our client is a profitable UK fintech building the financial command centre for the mass affluent - a segment of customers with meaningful assets, complex financial lives, and high expectations. They have already built a beautifully simple savings product that has attracted substantial deposits and a loyal, high-value customer base. But this isn’t a "small app in beta." They are well-capitalised, highly focused, and entering their next chapter: expanding beyond savings into investments, net worth, lending, and a wider ecosystem of wealth products. They operate as a lean, senior, deeply competent team. Their ambition? To become the go-to financial home for people who want clarity, control, and confidence over their wealth. And every product built now is foundational to that future.

Where You Come In:

You will join as a Senior Product Designer and become a core member of one of three "product frontiers" - focused, outcome-driven squads shaping the next wave of the client’s product ecosystem. You could be:

  • Scaling their proven savings engine - evolving UX, onboarding, and growth levers for a mass affluent audience.
  • Designing a brand-new investments experience - launching stocks & shares ISAs/GIAs for people who care about long-term, low-stress growth.
  • Building a 360 Net Worth product from scratch - replacing messy spreadsheets with a beautifully simple command centre for someone’s entire financial life.

This isn’t a lane-based execution role. You will shape propositions, drive discovery, design end-to-end experiences, and see your work ship fast, with real revenue impact.

How Work Happens Here:

Work is done in small, sharp, cross-functional squads aligned to frontiers: design + product + engineering aligned around a single measurable outcome. Expect:

  • Clear problem statements rooted in data
  • Fast hypothesis → prototype → test loops
  • AI-supported workflows to accelerate research, prototyping and design
  • Direct collaboration with engineers - early, often, and decisively
  • A culture where simplicity is sacred and design has real influence
  • Leaders who are in the room, not on a distant slide

The Role: Core Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning a product frontier end-to-end - from early proposition shaping to live iteration
  • Designing flows, interfaces, interactions and experiments that solve real customer problems
  • Translating research and data into clear hypotheses and product opportunities
  • Building and testing prototypes (often with AI-assisted tools) at speed
  • Partnering deeply with engineers to design solutions that balance feasibility and impact
  • Contributing to and expanding the design system as new products are created
  • Measuring success using meaningful product metrics (activation, balances, adoption, retention, etc.)
  • Championing simplicity, clarity and usability - especially in complex financial contexts

This Will Suit You If:

  • You have shipped real, meaningful products in fintech or other complex environments
  • Think in terms of outcomes and metrics, not just deliverables
  • Love owning a product slice rather than just executing features
  • Are strongest in research, UX and product thinking - with solid UI craft
  • Enjoy transforming complexity into clarity
  • Are comfortable working directly with engineering and leadership
  • Are curious about how AI and code can accelerate design
  • Want to design things that genuinely affect people’s financial lives

If your best work lives only in Figma, this probably isn’t the moment. If you can talk confidently about impact, this is exactly the place for you.

You’ll have the best chance with:

  • A portfolio that demonstrates your thinking and approach to complex problem-solving. Examples of products that have shipped (Even better if they are still live today).
  • Financial Services or Wealth experience is a big plus (But not essential)
  • Experience designing for consumer mobile app products.
  • Experience in an early-stage, high-growth environment (But not essential)

Interview Process

  • Chat with Gale & Co 30-45 min - Background, ambitions, fit, full role context.
  • Product & Portfolio Deep Dive 45–60 min with the hiring manager - focused on shipped work, decisions, outcomes and collaboration.
  • Onsite Session: Case Study + Live Problem Solving ~2 hours at their London office: 1h Case study walkthrough (your choice) 1h Collaborative working session using a real product scenario or data set
  • Leadership Conversation ~45 min - exploring your thinking, approach, and how you see the opportunity.
