Galderma, a global leader in dermatology, is seeking a Head of Sales to oversee the UK sales function for Biologics in the Prescription Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear vision for Galderma’s product and portfolio performance, including marketing and market access strategies, operating within corporate guidelines and industry codes of practice.
  • Collaborate with functional departments to support the realisation of UK sales expectations within defined timelines.
  • Recruit, retain, develop, and lead a team to implement short‑term and long‑term UK sales plans.
  • Explore and expand product sales opportunities and build professional relationships with relevant healthcare professionals and bodies to achieve national sales targets.
  • Engage in business planning and budget control, delivering all sales performance goals relevant to the business in the UK.
  • Support Business Unit business development opportunities across the UK.
  • Provide product forecasting insight.
  • Coordinate pre‑ and post‑launch activities for new product launches in the UK market.
  • Provide sales insights to the marketing team, contributing to brand activities as per global/local brand plans.
  • Contribute to all brand planning activities defined by the marketing function.
  • Be accountable for the investment and management of the sales teams’ field budgets.
  • Analyze national performance and market opportunities.
  • Prepare long‑term strategy and tactical plans for sales delivery by brand.
  • Set regional and territory targets for the field force.
  • Ensure effective bonus schemes are in place for the area of responsibility.
  • Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders to increase market access and influence prescribing policies and protocols.
  • Work with the UK Supply Chain manager to ensure adequate stocking of products sold within the UK supply chain.
  • Lead or support cycle meeting planning and delivery as required.
  • Maintain regular communication and reports to the UK Business Unit Director.
  • Recruit and retain all direct reports.
  • Set individual performance targets and monitor and review progress for direct reports, cascading this approach throughout the area of responsibility.
  • Conduct performance monitoring and feedback through informal and formal review processes.
  • Develop team member performance through coaching, training, and knowledge‑building activities outlined in personal development plans.
  • Lead the vision for the sales function and define shared objectives for the team.
  • Inspire and motivate the team, acting as a role‑model at all times.
  • Provide clear direction on company expectations and secure commitment to achievement of company objectives.
  • Ensure team members understand and operate in line with company values and policies.
  • Promote good working practices in accordance with company policies.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of ABPI codes of practice, company policies, and systems.
  • Provide regular and ad‑hoc reporting in line with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence function to standardise reporting where possible.
  • Monitor and authorise activity of all relevant team members.
  • Ensure direct reports operate within budgets by monitoring performance and controlling expenditure.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent understanding of the speciality pharmaceutical industry and UK healthcare system.
  • Experience in Immunology and preferably Dermatology.
  • Experience with high‑cost drug launches.
  • Proven track record of sales achievement in front‑line and management positions.
  • Demonstrable understanding of and experience with market access activities.
  • Proven record of successful individual and team performance development.
  • Intuitive understanding of building and maintaining high‑performing teams, with documented coaching experience translating complex medical data into customer‑centric communications.
  • Demonstrated coaching of individuals in launch excellence capabilities to drive successful uptake within a critical launch window.
