Legal Counsel – Global Product Strategy based in London (hybrid – 3 days per week onsite). The role reports directly to the Head of Legal, Global Product Strategy, R&D and Regulatory Law, providing legal guidance across pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and consumer/OTC products for our Injectable Aesthetics and Dermatological Skincare franchises.
Key Responsibilities
- Product Legal Support – Injectable Aesthetics & Dermatological Skincare: Lead legal partner for product portfolios, advise on global regulatory frameworks, support teams in navigating multi‑jurisdictional requirements, review promotional, non‑promotional and scientific materials, advise on promotion and advertising requirements, guide scientific exchange and medical education, and support governance and risk mitigation.
- Commercial & Strategic Business Partnering: Trusted legal advisor to Global Product Strategy, Commercial and Medical Affairs teams; provide guidance on go‑to‑market strategies, product positioning, support launches, line extensions and global congress activities.
- Regulatory Law & Compliance Advisory: Advise on regulatory compliance matters such as promotion, labeling, safety communications and post‑market activities; counsel on anti‑bribery, anti‑corruption and other healthcare compliance considerations; monitor regulatory developments and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Contractual Support: Draft, review and negotiate a range of life sciences agreements, including services and consultancy agreements; partner with R&D, Alliance Management and external stakeholders to support innovation and development programmes.
- Training & Enablement: Deliver legal and regulatory training to commercial, medical and regulatory stakeholders; promote awareness of key legal requirements and support a culture of compliance.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Leadership: Build strong partnerships across Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs and Commercial teams; share best practices and contribute to a high‑performing global legal team.
Qualifications
- Law degree (JD or international equivalent) required.
- Admission to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- 5–8+ years of relevant legal experience in the life sciences sector.
- Combination of law firm experience (preferred, with focus on life sciences/regulatory) or in‑house experience within a pharmaceutical, medical device or consumer health company.
- Demonstrated experience as a product or regulatory attorney supporting product lifecycle activities.
- Proven experience in reviewing promotional and scientific materials.
- Working knowledge of Veeva or similar content approval systems.
- Understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks (e.g., anti‑bribery, anti‑corruption, industry codes).
- Strong business acumen with the ability to translate legal requirements into pragmatic solutions.
