We are looking for a Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy team during an exciting period of growth. The position is principally to provide Building Consultancy services for managed rural estates in Perthshire and other geographical areas as required, but also with fantastic opportunities to be involved in continuing to grow and develop the building consultancy work of the Stirling office. The role is offered on a hybrid working arrangement with an office base of Stirling, Perth or Edinburgh.

This is a unique opportunity for a surveyor who is passionate about Building Surveying and Project Management and is seeking a new challenge in their career.

Your New Role

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sourcing and implementing instructions from the firm’s Rural and Commercial managed portfolios as well as direct clients.
  • Working with the Rural, Commercial and other business stream teams to implement and run building projects and other professional work instructions on behalf of clients.
  • Working with managed rural estates to provide building surveying and consultancy services for small and large projects, including planned maintenance and statutory compliance.
  • Carrying out all work in accordance with the department’s standards and ensuring that we provide exemplary value-added service to clients.
  • Assisting with managing fee income to ensure that the team and department maintain and exceed budget where there is opportunity for growth.
  • Travel and remote working will be a significant part of the role.

The Successful Candidate

The successful candidate will have obtained a degree in Building Surveying or similar qualification or have a suitable accredited qualification. They will have knowledge of building, construction and building surveying and have experience in a similar role. The candidate will ideally be MRICS qualified or have the desire to work towards this.

You will be highly motivated, be able to demonstrate a strong ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively at all levels. You will have meticulous attention to detail and be able to operate within a fast paced environment, whilst acting as an ambassador for the firm, promoting its services at all opportunities.

The role will involve travel and therefore a full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
