Your New Opportunity

Galbraith is a diverse multi-disciplinary Firm of Property Consultants with offices across Northern England and Scotland, specialising in the rural, forestry, energy, commercial, building consultancy and residential sectors.

We have an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our growing Building Consultancy team within our central Scotland offices. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of exciting projects and continue to grow and develop the building consultancy work across our Edinburgh, Stirling or Perth offices, whilst also covering other geographical areas as required.

This role would suit someone who is either newly MRICS qualified, or part-qualified. Full support will be provided to sit APC if required.

This role brings great variety within day to day work. Most recently the team have worked on Offices, Industrial, Retail, Leisure and Education projects in both Commercial and Rural settings throughout Scotland and England.

Your New Role

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Sourcing and implementing instructions from the firm’s Rural and Commercial managed portfolios as well as direct clients.
  • Working with the Rural, Commercial and other business stream teams to implement and run building projects and other professional work instructions on behalf of clients.
  • Taking responsibility for your own workload as well as assisting with managing and training others.
  • Carrying out all work in accordance with the departments standards and ensuring that we provide exemplary value added service to clients.
  • Assisting with managing fee income to ensure that the team and department maintain and exceed budget where there is opportunity for growth.

Work Pattern

The role is offered on a full time basis, Monday – Thursday 9am-5.30pm & Friday 9am-5pm, a total of 37hrs per week. Hybrid working will be offered following an initial training period. Further details of this will be discussed at interview.

The Successful Candidates

The successful candidates will have obtained a degree in Building Surveying or similar qualification or have a suitable accredited qualification. They will have knowledge of building, construction and building surveying and have experience in a similar role. The candidate will ideally be MRICS qualified or be working towards this.

You will be highly organised and be able to demonstrate a strong ability to develop relationships and communicate effectively at all levels. You will have meticulous attention to detail, show total discretion and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information and be able to operate within a fast paced environment, all whilst acting as an ambassador for the firm, promoting its services at all opportunities.

You will have experience using Microsoft packages including SharePoint (advantageous).

The roles will involve travel and therefore a full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
