Your New Opportunity

We have a unique opportunity for a full-time GIS or Senior GIS Consultant to join our team of GIS professionals committed to driving digital transformation and advancing our geospatial capabilities.

If successful, you will be joining a diverse multi-disciplinary firm with offices across Scotland and Northern England, specialising in property sales and lettings, and the rural, energy, forestry and commercial sectors.

Our GIS Team delivers innovative geospatial solutions that support both clients and internal Business Streams through spatial analysis, mapping, web GIS and enterprise data management.

Key responsibilities of this role include

  • Maintaining and operating a suite of GIS applications used internally and with client projects, and support the firm's GIS user group, applying your expertise to improve project delivery.
  • Producing high-quality cartographic products, technical plans, and mapping outputs for a diverse range of client and internal projects.
  • Providing GIS technical advice to client and internal teams.
  • Developing new workflows and designing innovative solutions, helping clients unlock efficiencies across programmes, visualise and interpret complex data, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement, proactively developing solutions that enhance service delivery and client outcomes.

Work Pattern

The role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, Monday – Thursday 9am-5.30pm & Friday 9am-5pm, a total of 37hrs per week.

The role's office base is Edinburgh and hybrid working will be offered following an initial training period.

To be Successful

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 4 years' experience and for those looking to apply at the more Senior level, you will have experience in having responsibility for leading complex technical workstreams and mentoring colleagues.

You will have proven experience in providing GIS support to multi-discipline, client focused, project environments.

Relevant industry experience is preferred, although not essential.

You will have advanced knowledge of Arc GIS Pro (3.5 or later) and/or QGIS (3.4 or later), experience in spatial database design and management with Postgre SQL/Post GIS, Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle databases, proven ability to publish, manage, and administer web feature and web map services using a GIS server (Esri Arc GIS Online, Geo Server, or equivalent), practical experience using FME (Form and Flow) for data integration and automation, and working knowledge of Arc GIS Online, including Field Maps and Survey123.

The successful candidate will also have strong digital cartography skills, with experience in producing high-quality maps, plans, reports, and visualisations to professional standard, and demonstrable experience analysing spatial data to answer questions and inform decision making.
