We are looking for an experienced Rural Surveyor to deliver rural property advice to both new and existing farm clients for our Rural Business Stream spanning across Stirlingshire, Central Belt and West of Scotland area.

Galbraith is a diverse multi-disciplinary Firm of Property Consultants with offices across Northern England and Scotland, specialising in the rural, forestry, energy, commercial, building surveying and residential sectors with a growing presence in the emerging Natural Capital sector.

We are looking for an experienced Rural Surveyor to deliver rural property advice to both new and existing farm clients for our Rural Business Stream spanning across Stirlingshire, Central Belt and West of Scotland area. Working with the wider rural team, the role will promote and further expand and develop the range and reach of our rural management and professional services.

This role will be offered on a hybrid basis, following an initial induction period.

Your New Role

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • To assist and lead in the management of estates for our clients where required, assisting with all things pertaining to the management of the estate business and pursuing opportunities for growth and advancement.
  • Provide general consultancy to our clients; principally of rural properties to include matters connected with all types of let and in hand property, property maintenance and improvement, dealing with estate/farm employees and employment matters, general sporting, forestry and land use including liaison with statutory bodies; planning and developments matters and any other related work.
  • General property consultancy including planning, wayleaves, sporting rights, access negotiations, diversification project etc.
  • To assist and take lead role in negotiating renewable energy leases or similar.
  • Valuations of all types of property and property related interests for sale, letting, tax planning, rental valuations and negotiations and such other purposes as may be required.
  • Advising on all aspects of the fast-changing rural environment as changes in the agricultural subsidy regime impact on businesses and tenancies.
  • Identifying threats and commercial opportunities, particularly in relation to Natural Capital, encompassing carbon management, regenerative farming and Biodiversity Net Gain.

The Successful Candidate

You will be an experienced and qualified surveyor who has a minimum two years experience post MRICS qualification and be fully conversant with a wide range of farming enterprises. You will be highly motivated and be able to demonstrate a strong ability to develop relationships. You will have proven organisational skills and demonstrate the ability to prioritise effectively whilst upholding a meticulous attention to detail. We are looking for an individual who will thrive in a fast-paced environment and act as an ambassador for the firm, promoting its services at all opportunities.

The role will involve travel and therefore a full driving licence and own vehicle is essential.
