This position will initially join on a temporary-to-permanent basis and will play a critical role in two key areas: global payroll operations and the implementation of Workday, with a targeted go-live date of January 1, 2027
- In your first three-six months, success will mean helping Galaxy deliver a clean and well-controlled Workday go-live, ensuring payroll readiness and data integrity, and establishing scalable processes that can transition into steady-state People Operations
- Leading up to go-live, this individual will partner closely with People, Payroll, Finance, Technology, external implementation partners, and other key stakeholders to support the successful implementation of Workday.
This will include data validation and migration, business process design, testing, integrations, payroll readiness, documentation, and change management
- At the same time, this person will help manage and strengthen Galaxy’s global payroll operations, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time and that payroll processes, controls, data, and vendor relationships can scale with the organization
- Following implementation, the role will transition toward ongoing ownership and optimization of Workday and global payroll operations, including system administration, data integrity, reporting, process improvement, controls, and the employee experience
- We’re looking for someone who enjoys being close to the details while understanding the broader operational picture - someone who can identify an issue in a payroll reconciliation or employee record, work cross-functionally to resolve it, and then improve the underlying process so it doesn’t happen again
- Serve as a key People Operations partner for Galaxy’s Workday implementation ahead of the January 1, 2027 go-live
- Partner with internal stakeholders and external implementation resources to support requirements gathering, business process design, system configuration, integrations, and implementation activities
- Coordinate and execute data preparation, cleansing, validation, and migration activities to ensure accurate employee and payroll data within Workday
- Develop and execute user acceptance testing (UAT), document results, identify issues, and partner with appropriate stakeholders through resolution
- Support payroll parallel testing and other payroll-readiness activities ahead of go-live
- Help establish scalable HRIS processes, controls, documentation, and governance
- Develop process documentation, SOPs, training materials, and resources for People team members, managers, and employees
- Support change management, training, and communications associated with the Workday launch
- Following go-live, help manage ongoing Workday administration, including business processes, employee data, reporting, security/access, system updates, and issue resolution
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve, automate, and scale People processes through Workday and other technologies
- Support the end-to-end administration of payroll across Galaxy’s global employee population, partnering with internal teams and third‑party payroll providers as appropriate
- Review payroll inputs and outputs to ensure employees are paid accurately, completely, and on time
- Perform payroll audits, reconciliations, and variance analyses and proactively investigate and resolve discrepancies
- Coordinate employee lifecycle changes impacting payroll, including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, bonuses, benefits deductions, leaves, and other employee changes
- Partner with Finance on payroll funding, reconciliations, reporting, and related accounting requirements
- Work with People team partners to ensure HRIS, payroll, benefits, and employee data remain aligned across systems and vendors
- Support payroll compliance requirements across applicable jurisdictions and partner with internal and external subject‑matter experts as needed
- Manage day‑to‑day relationships with payroll vendors, escalating and resolving issues while holding partners accountable for service and accuracy
- Maintain payroll calendars, controls, documentation, and standard operating procedures
- Identify opportunities to standardize and strengthen global payroll processes as Galaxy continues to grow
- Maintain a high standard of employee data accuracy and integrity across People systems
- Produce and analyze People and payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for operational improvement
- Support employee inquiries related to payroll, HR systems, and People processes, providing a high level of service and discretion

- Support audits, compliance requests, reporting, and other People Operations initiatives as needed
- Handle highly sensitive and confidential employee information with sound judgment and discretion
- Support global payroll operations across multiple jurisdictions (e. g., US, UK, Ireland, Portugal, and EOR‑supported countries), including timesheet approvals, payroll data prep, and coordination with in‑country payroll vendors
- Assist with new hire onboarding, employee data changes, transfers, and offboarding processes within Workday and related HR systems
