Who You Are:
As an SRE/DevOps Engineer (Web3/Blockchain) at Galaxy, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our blockchain infrastructure. You will work closely with our proof‑of‑stake validators, Bitcoin mining support team, and digital asset custody solutions team, to maintain and enhance our cutting‑edge technology stack. Your expertise in cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and observability will be invaluable in driving the success of our business.
What You’ll Do:
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure for our proof‑of‑stake validators, Bitcoin mining support, and custody solutions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to identify and implement improvements in infrastructure, monitoring, and incident response.
- Implement monitoring and observability tools to ensure the health, performance, and stability of our blockchain infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, scaling, and recovery processes.
- Assist the Bitcoin mining team with the setup and management of cloud components, VMWare, and other virtualization technologies.
- Implement and maintain security best practices across all aspects of our infrastructure, including access controls, encryption, and network security.
- Participate in on‑call rotations to ensure the continued reliability and uptime of our services.
- Continuously research and stay up‑to‑date with emerging trends in the web3/blockchain space.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in SRE/DevOps, with a focus on web3/blockchain technologies.
- Experience administering Ethereum or Solana infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of proof‑of‑stake consensus mechanisms and experience managing validators.
- Familiarity with Bitcoin mining operations and supporting infrastructure.
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and virtualization technologies (VMWare, KVM, Docker).
- Proficient in scripting languages (Python, Bash) and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef).
- Strong experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).
- Knowledge of security best practices, including encryption, access control, and network security.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, rapidly evolving environment.
Bonus Points:
- Experience with digital asset custody solutions and security best practices.
- Familiarity with additional blockchains (Cosmos et al) and layer‑2 strategies (Eigen), and/or other web3/blockchain ecosystems.
