Role: Senior Design Engineer
Location: Thetford, Norfolk
Working hours: Monday to Friday - Full time hours
Capacity of role: Permanent position
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum
Our client is a leading manufacturer who is currently seeking an additional member for their Design team with an Experienced/Senior Design Engineer. Applicants will need to be proficient with 3D and 2D industrial modelling ideally in a senior based position.
Main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing design projects from concept through to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards and customer specifications
- Developing and optimising engineering solutions, including detailed calculations, reports and sketches
- Coaching and mentoring junior engineers, fostering their professional development and ensuring alignment and integration of design efforts
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant regulatory standards and internal quality requirements
- Participating in quality improvement processes and lean manufacturing strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Candidate attributes:
- 3D modelling & 2D drawings with Autodesk Inventor
- Mechanical design experience (5 years ideally)
- Experience designing equipment for fabrication using steel
- Occasional visits to sites for site surveys & client meetings
- Experience in finite element analysis
