Salary: £43,108 PA Basic, OTE first year £85,000, signing on Bonus £2,000, Annual Bonus
Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing per year worked.
Responsibilities
- As a VMT you will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repair work on the company's fleet of vehicles and trailers, ensuring that all vehicles are in safe working order.
- Your role requires you to execute repairs to the highest standards while conducting in-depth engineering work and diagnostics.
- You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.
- It is crucial that all repairs are performed in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policies.
- Additionally, you will need to safely operate all relevant equipment, machines, and tools, and complete all associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Key Skills & Knowledge
- The ideal candidate should hold education to City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering or possess an equivalent engineering discipline.
- Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic in a similar role is essential.
- While it is preferable to hold an HGV C+E licence (Class 1) and a current ADR, these are not mandatory.
- You should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of vehicles, trailers, workshop plant, and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic problems.
- The role requires someone who can multitask, meet key deadlines, and exhibit rigorous fault-finding skills.
- You should be capable of working independently as well as part of a team, showcasing strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
