Based close to Norwich, Norfolk

Working hours: Monday to Friday - Full time hours

Capacity of role: Permanent position

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum

Our client is a leading manufacturer in their field and they are currently recruiting for an operations manager to lead, develop and direct their team. Applicants will have ideally worked in a similar role previously.

Main duties will include:

  • Managing projects and processes from start to completion
  • Building strong professional relationships with all staffing and customers
  • Leading, attending and participating in staff meetings, developing the team and ensuring all departments are working to a right first time approach
  • Leading all training programs for the team
  • Ensuring the agreed levels of profit are met as discussed inline with management
  • Identifying and establishing customer requirements
  • Preparing fully for pre-contract meetings agreeing with your line manager and the estimator, a clear plan to ensure profit targets are met
  • Seeking permission for extra budgetary expenditure, ensuring that instructions are in place for any additional work prior to commencement with the details and costs recorded on the Data Base
  • Ensuring all sub-contractors are paid accurately and on time
  • Creating an atmosphere of motivation through being upbeat and positive
  • Having monthly toolbox talks with the team, and dealing with any concerns that team members have in a constructive way
  • Working with estimators and the sales team to help win specific clients as agreed with line manager
  • Managing realistic expectations in clients, and then exceeding those expectations through excellent customer service
  • Abiding by all statutory requirements including those relating to health and safety
  • Adhering to and promoting all company policies and procedures in place from time to time including those relating to HR and health and safety

Candidate Attributes:

  • To have worked in a similar role previously for a minimum of 5 years
  • Previous working experience of leading, developing and motivating a team
  • Ability to juggle a number of roles at any given time
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and deliver good quality projects on time and within budget
  • Professional business acumen
  • Ability to communicate with and at all levels across the business
  • Strong project management and health and safety experience
