Galaxy Personnel is partnering with an exciting National Company who are looking for a Building Services Manager to join their team and be involved with projects at all stages. A true multidisciplinary contractor design team working on a variety of building and civil engineering projects from £0.1m to £30m+. From education, retail, commercial, industrial, offices, medical and research facilities, to award-winning residential and passive house developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess tender drawings and specifications for compliance to Building Regulations, Statutory, Health, Environment and Safety Legislation and Requirements.
  • Evaluate pre-contract quotes and technical submissions, reporting on shortfalls, omissions, risk and opportunities.
  • Provide technical assistance to in-house design team.
  • Provide practical support to construction teams.
  • Supervise, survey, co-ordinate and inspect subcontractor activities during construction phase.
  • Coordinate commissioning and handover procedures.
  • Appraise pre-tender building performance (e.g. BREEAM) assessments and advising construction team and responsibilities.
  • Appraise subcontractor design information against design codes, standards, employer’s requirements and buildability requirements.
  • Provide technical inspections, monitoring and testing to help identify and rectify defects.
  • Provide accurate, appropriate written reports and technical documents.
  • Provide input into Construction Group tender submissions and competitive bids.

You will need relevant design and/or installation experience gained with a multi-disciplinary consultant, contractor or developer design team. This opportunity would suit those with a mixed project background, and experience within both Mechanical and Electrical disciplines would be an advantage. Equally important is your ability to collaborate and be a key team player, with the personality and approach to help make projects a success, and help us develop and mentor our team, and maintain excellent relationships with our clients.
