I am currently seeking Farmhands for the Norfolk and Suffolk areas. You will be responsible for maintaining the high standards of welfare expected by the company and our supply chain. You will have day-to-day responsibility for the humane and considerate husbandry of your livestock.
You will have support from your unit manager and will be using modern and well-maintained equipment and tractors. This will be the next step in your career, not just a job.
Key Tasks:- Feeding livestock (using either a trailed feeder or a tote bin and scoop)
- Checking all livestock every day for condition and health, and treating those that require it
- Other duties which fall within your capabilities
- The farm will be run as a safe, welcoming, and supportive space.
- Good communication with your peers and line management is expected, in order to maintain healthy working relationships.
- You will play your role in raising high health piglets whilst giving gilts and sows the best possible treatment.
- Whilst following standard operating procedures, with reference to risk assessments, you will be flexible in your work and the tasks asked of you.
