The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the branch. Primary responsibilities include driving the growth of the branch, profit & loss responsibility, staff development and coaching, and ensuring that health and safety is always adhered to.
You will be commercially astute with a proven ability to influence staff members and drive sales. You will report directly to the Head of Operations.
- Maximising and growing sales by showcasing product knowledge of both timber and ironmongery and building strong relationships with customers.
- Leading and coaching the team to ensure the branch delivers excellent customer service, maintaining the highest standards.
- Merchandising the branch's stock, bringing in new ideas and new ranges where necessary.
- Ensuring a high standard of health and safety and housekeeping is maintained in the branch, making it both staff and customer friendly and safe.
- Making commercial decisions for the branch to benefit Timber Services as a whole and looking for new ways to drive growth, including managing purchasing and stock control.
- Working closely with Head Office to ensure Timber Services can provide a complete service to all customers.
- Collaborating with the Head of Operations to ensure the new depot opens within agreed timescales.
Qualifications and Skills
- Desirable: Previous experience of supervision or managing people, IOSH Managing Safely.
- Essential: Previous experience working in a similar merchant or DIY retail environment, positive can-do attitude, willingness to support and work with colleagues, lead by example, timber-related background, knowledge, and interest, excellent sales and customer service skills, good communication and people skills.
