Gain is building the future of private market intelligence. Our bold vision is to become the global leader in this space and a $1bn business within the next three years. Our platform empowers investors, advisors, and C-suite executives with the deepest private market insights, combining human curation with GenAI for faster, data-driven decisions. We serve 100% of MBB/Big-Four advisories, clients representing over $1 trillion of private capital, and more than 70% of the top-20 global M&A houses, including Blackstone, Goldman Sachs and McKinsey. With an NPS of >80, we lead the market on customer satisfaction and strive for excellence in everything we do. Operating globally with offices in New York, Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Bangalore, Gain is one of Europe’s fastest growing businesses.

We are growing our Intelligence Origination team across Europe. This team is responsible for sourcing proprietary, off-record insights on live private equity related transactions, with a focus on collecting structured data points rather than writing news stories. You’ll play a pivotal role in building our real-time, data-first coverage of European M&A transactions.

As an Intelligence Originator, you will help to build a proprietary, real-time dataset on European M&A transactions. This is not a traditional reporting role. You won’t be writing news stories or chasing headlines. Instead, your mission is to cultivate a trusted network of off-record sources — including investment bankers, private equity sponsors, advisors, consultants, lenders, and lawyers — and extract proprietary intelligence on live deals. The insights you gather will be structured into clean, machine-readable datapoints that power our platform. These include financials, process stage, valuation ranges, suitor lists, lender involvement, deal motivation, and more — forming the backbone of what our clients use to originate and analyse transactions.

You’ll be speaking with market participants in a background-only capacity, surfacing intelligence that rarely appears in the public domain. Working closely with our analyst and research teams, you’ll help convert these raw insights into structured, scalable data — fuelling client workflows and supporting better dealmaking decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a network of sources - including bankers, sponsors, lenders, lawyers, consultants, and other advisors
  • Conduct daily off-record, high-trust conversations to surface non-public insights on deal activity (e.g. bidders, valuation ranges, advisors, incumbent lenders, deal rationale, timeline)
  • Identify and monitor live and upcoming M&A transactions in your region
  • Ensure high-quality sourcing of proprietary datapoints that feed directly into the Gain.pro platform - not written articles
  • Collaborate closely with our in-house analysts and research teams to ensure data completeness, consistency and structured format
  • Support the expansion of our real-time transaction pipeline and contribute to internal market intelligence sharing

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of M&A, private equity or private credit markets
  • Experience sourcing market intelligence - in journalism, research, origination, investor relations or a related field
  • Skilled at cultivating senior-level sources and handling off-record, background-only conversations
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, both in-person and remotely
  • High attention to detail and ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
  • Comfortable operating independently as part of a fast-moving, entrepreneurial team

What do we offer?

  • Competitive base salary and annual bonus linked to your performance
  • Attractive benefits including health and wellbeing and remote working allowance, learning and coaching benefits
  • Flexible hybrid working model with 2 days per week in our London office or remotely
  • Healthy work-life balance allowing for planability and personal commitments
  • Chance to grow with the company gaining increasing responsibilities, supported by coaching and feedback-driven approach
  • Tremendous learning and career progression opportunities
  • International environment with hubs in New York, Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Bangalore
  • Culture of trust, ownership and standard of excellence and fun working atmosphere with regular outings and events

Does this sound like a perfect match? We are proud of our product and its potential. We are growing fast and have fun while building our platform and company. If this sounds interesting, reach out — we are excited to get to know you!
