The Role
This role leads link building and digital PR strategy across a diverse international client portfolio, focusing on growing organic visibility, authority and traffic. The Link Building & Digital PR Lead works cross‐functionally with outreach, content, web dev and design teams, and plays a key role in shaping and growing the agency's link and digital PR offering.
Responsibilities
- Own link building and digital PR strategy for key accounts, defining KPIs, roadmaps and test plans aligned to client organic visibility and commercial objectives.
- Lead the planning and delivery of digital PR and link‐earning campaigns that secure high‐quality, relevant coverage and backlinks from authoritative publishers, journalists and partners in multiple markets.
- Partner with the outreach team to prioritise targets, refine prospecting processes and ensure outreach quality, personalisation and follow‐through at scale.
- Collaborate with the content team to brief and shape data‐led, newsworthy or creative assets (e.g. reports, tools, interactive content) that naturally attract links.
- Work with web dev and design teams to scope and deliver technically feasible, on‐brand campaign pages and interactive experiences that support link‐earning and user engagement.
- Monitor backlink profiles, coverage, rankings and traffic using SEO and analytics platforms, translating results into clear insights and optimisation plans for clients and internal teams.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key journalists, publishers, influencers and partners to create ongoing link and story opportunities.
- Support and help drive new business by contributing digital PR and link‐building insight, ideas, forecasts and case studies to pitches, RFPs and proposals.
- Take responsibility for the growth and development of the link building and digital PR service, including revenue performance, productising best practice and identifying new opportunities.
- Continuously refine processes, tooling and ways of working across outreach, content, design and dev to increase efficiency, margin and client value.
- Contribute to wider agency thought leadership by sharing campaign results, insights and viewpoints internally and externally where appropriate.
Skills & Experience
- Significant agency‐side experience in digital PR and link building, managing campaigns for multiple brands, ideally including international or multi‐market work.
- Proven track record of delivering high‐quality editorial links and coverage from relevant, authoritative sites, evidenced by a strong portfolio of campaigns.
- Deep understanding of SEO fundamentals and how backlinks, content and technical factors combine to drive organic visibility.
- Strong cross‐functional collaboration skills, with hands‐on experience working alongside outreach, content, design and development teams on integrated campaigns.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for crafting compelling pitches, press releases and outreach copy, and for presenting strategies and results to clients and stakeholders.
- Commercially minded, comfortable working to revenue, growth and profitability targets and using data to inform investment and prioritisation decisions.
- Highly organised, able to manage multiple clients, campaigns and deadlines in a fast‐paced, mid‐to‐large agency environment.
Reporting Lines & Collaboration
- Reports into Managing Partner of Owned Media.
- Works closely with outreach specialists, project managers, SEO consultants, content strategists and writers, designers, developers, and client services / account leads.
Requirements
- 3-4 years' agency‐side experience in digital PR/link building, managing multiple campaigns or clients simultaneously, ideally including some multi‐market work.
- Proven record of earning high-quality editorial links and coverage from relevant, authoritative sites, evidenced by clear campaign examples/portfolio.
- Hands‐on experience planning and delivering outreach campaigns end to end: ideation, prospecting, pitching, follow‐up, reporting and optimisation.
