The Role
Responsible for taking a lead practitioner role on high profile client projects, including supervising and mentoring other team members and ensuring quality of delivery in line with client and company expectations. Actively engage in developing internal practices and the accessibility services provided, as well as GAIN\βs wider services and capabilities in support of identifying and developing commercial growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Direction
- Lead high-profile client accounts, ensuring exceptional delivery across complex accessibility projects.
- Oversee project quality, team performance, and efficient delivery processes, mentoring junior colleagues and shaping strategic direction.
- Drive commercial growth by expanding client relationships, developing new accessibility services, and ensuring our methods remain competitive.
- Contribute to organisational decisions on structure, resourcing, recruitment, and budgeting.
Practice Leadership & Team Development
- Champion excellence in accessibility practice-refining processes, establishing consistent standards, and fostering innovation.
- Mentor and develop team members through regular feedback, training, and professional development planning.
- Encourage a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the accessibility team.
Client Management & Growth
- Partner with Client Services to understand business needs, design effective solutions, and identify opportunities for growth.
- Provide strategic input to proposals and pitches, supporting new business wins and long-term account development.
- Act as a senior client contact, representing GAIN with professionalism and thought leadership in accessibility.
Innovation & Thought Leadership
- Stay at the forefront of accessibility and interface design, sharing insights on emerging trends and technologies.
- Represent GAIN externally through talks, publications, and events; contribute to the agency\βs visibility and authority in the field.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure GAIN\βs platforms reflect cutting-edge accessibility and user experience practices.
Required Experience & Skills
- Significant commercial experience in accessibility or related digital roles; a relevant degree is advantageous.
- In-depth knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
- Strong communicator, facilitator, and problem-solver with sound decision-making skills.
- Proven leadership ability-balancing autonomy with collaboration and motivating teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Excellent organisational skills; able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strategic focus.
