About GAIN
GAIN (Girls Are Investors) is a community of investors, with charitable status, set to change the staggering lack of gender diversity in investment management, from the ground up. In the UK, women represent just 8% of decision makers in investment management. At entry level, it’s not much better - it’s understood that only 20% of applicants to the industry are women. We surveyed young women aged 16-21 and found the reasons twofold. Firstly, young women don’t understand what investing means and why it’s important to society. Secondly, there aren’t enough female role models in investing – and if you can't see her, you can't be her. These reasons shouldn’t come as a surprise, but the fact nothing has been done yet to course-correct among young women should. GAIN is here to change this. Our purpose is to inform and inspire. We inform young women bringing helpful information on careers in investment to their fingertips. We inspire young women through events and programmes, delivering compelling and high-impact messages on the many benefits of investing as a career.
Reports to: University & Career Pathways Manager
Location: Remote, but must be based within easy commutable distance of London
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Salary: This is a junior role. We offer a competitive salary appropriate to the responsibilities of the role and the successful candidate's skills and experience. Further details will be discussed with shortlisted candidates during the interview process.

Details: The Universities & Career Pathways Coordinator is an integral part of GAIN's small, dynamic team, supporting the day-to-day administration, delivery and coordination of GAIN's university-level programmes. Working closely with the Universities & Career Pathways Manager and two other Coordinators in the immediate team, this role focuses on growing new and existing relationships with firms participating in the GAIN Empower Investment Internship Programme, GAIN Investment Insight Programme, and University Insight Days, delivered both online and in person. The role also supports the planning and delivery of these programmes and events, following established processes to ensure a well-run, high-quality experience for students, volunteers, and firms alike.
Core responsibilities
- Programme support & delivery
Support the planning, promotion and delivery of GAIN's university-level programmes including its flagship internship programme, ensuring a positive and impactful experience for all participants.
- Lead on managing relationships with host firms throughout each programme cycle, including recruitment, communications and ongoing engagement.
- Handle day-to-day programme administration, communications and logistics, following established processes and keeping the team informed.
- Collate feedback from stakeholders and share learnings with the Universities & Career Pathways Manager to support continuous programme improvement.
- Collaborate with the wider team to support the ongoing development and growth of GAIN's programme offerings.
- Attend programme-specific events, in person and online, representing GAIN and building relationships with firms, students and volunteers.
University Insight Days
- Coordinate University Insight Days with partner firms from planning through to delivery, including attendance on the day.
- Work closely with the External Stakeholder team to secure host firms for University Insight Days and build long-term partnerships to support future Insight Day delivery.
- Coordinate with host firms on Insight Day logistics and provide support before, during and after the day.
- Collaborate closely with the immediate team on student recruitment for Insight Days.
- Provide feedback to firms on Insight Days, looking to continuously improve the experience for both firms and students.
Operational excellence
- Use GAIN's key systems and tools to support programme and Insight Day delivery, including Microsoft Office, Teams, Beacon, Zoom, Monday.com and the applicant tracking system.
- Support accurate and up-to-date documentation of processes and timelines.
- Support the monitoring of project plans to help ensure key milestones are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Keep firm and event data updated on GAIN platforms, e.g. Beacon, tracking KPIs and analysing impact.
- Support the Universities & Career Pathways Manager and wider GAIN team to deliver GAIN's offerings to the highest standard.
Skills
This role is perfect for someone interested in corporate relationship building within the investment management industry, whilst supporting the delivery of impactful programmes and career-focused experiences to students.
Key skills
- Relationship management - in particular building and sustaining firm partnerships and being confident acting as the main point of contact for external stakeholders.
- Programme coordination - able to manage multiple moving parts across a programme cycle without losing sight of the details.
- Communication - comfortable liaising with firms, volunteers and students, and keeping the wider team informed.
- Data & reporting - comfortable with a CRM, able to track KPIs and turn data into insight.
- Collaboration - keen to work closely within a remote team to deliver shared projects.
Desirable skills
- 1–2 years' experience in a partnerships, account management, or client-facing role.
- Familiarity with CRM or applicant tracking system platforms (Beacon or similar).
- A genuine interest in GAIN's mission and helping to improve gender diversity in investment management.
- Confidence presenting GAIN's mission and getting external stakeholders on board.
