Our client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Environmental Consultant (EIA) to join their Environmental Management and Nature-Based Solutions teams.

The ideal candidate will have substantial UK experience, including on-site work, and expertise in one or more of the following disciplines: Hydrology, CAR Licensing, Peat Management, Surface Water Management, Pollution Prevention Planning, Hydromorphology, and Hydrology Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Environmental Statement (ES) reporting.
  • Lead and manage environmental assessments and consultancy projects, ensuring compliance with UK regulations and industry best practices.
  • Support the planning and delivery of projects across various sectors, including renewables, residential, and industrial developments.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
  • Conduct site visits, environmental audits, and field assessments to support project requirements.
  • Prepare technical documents such as EIA Reports, Planning Statements, and Pre-Application Consultation Reports.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including preparing bids and securing new opportunities.

Requirements

  • A degree in Environmental Planning, EIA, Town Planning, Environmental Science, Hydrology, Geography, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline (BSc or MSc).
  • Membership in IEMA or RTPI (Graduate or Associate level).
  • Proven experience delivering projects through the planning system, including EIA coordination.
  • Strong understanding of UK planning systems and EIA best practices.
  • Excellent report writing and stakeholder communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work across multiple projects.
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Chartered status or working towards Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv), Chartered Water and Environmental Manager (CWEM), or equivalent.
  • Experience designing and implementing nature-based solutions for climate resilience and water management.
  • Knowledge of biodiversity net gain (BNG) and habitat restoration principles.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement and public consultation processes.
