About the role:
We are looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Manager who will take on responsibility for leading a team of quality controllers within our facility. The primary focus of the role will be to ensure that all products achieve the highest standards of food safety and meet a wide range of customer specifications. This is a hands-on role, where your presence within the factory will ensure we continue to drive a culture of continuous improvement and ensure that the customer is always front and centre in our minds. You will need to have worked in a similar manufacturing environment and have at least 3 years' experience managing a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of QA's in their day to day work across all departments
- Stand in for the Technical Manager when required
- Through visible leadership, ensure that a positive quality culture is encouraged, continuous improvement sustained, and best practices are shared
- Contribute ideas for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all quality systems
- In partnership with the wider team, support the development and introduction of all new products, including the effective execution of trials and taste panels
- Assist with internal audits
- Monitor and update improvement plans for customer complaints and non-conformances
- Provide technical support to the hygiene team and production teams
About you:
Essential attributes and skills:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience managing a team in a similar environment in the UK.
- Degree in food science or equivalent with experience of HACCP, traceability and general food safety or equivalent on the job experience
- Experience within a BRC food production / manufacturing site within the UK
- Strong communication skills and the assertiveness to challenge others where necessary
- Strong work and team ethic, able to motivate and inspire others
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple priorities at any one time
- Excellent I.T skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Auditing skills
- Analytical problem-solving skills
