Shift: This is a 24/7 shift-based role working 12-hour day and night shifts. We are currently in the process of finalising our shift pattern and are considering options such as 4-on/4-off and the Panama (2-2-3) rota. As part of this process, we're keen to take into account team feedback to ensure the chosen pattern supports both operational needs and work-life balance. The final shift arrangement will be confirmed before your start date.

They are a key player in their sector operating on a national basis, supplying poultry products to leading blue chip manufacturers. We are looking to recruit several electrical and mechanical engineers to facilitate a move to a rotating shift pattern during the summer. Successful applicants will work closely with the manufacturing team maintaining and servicing all processing machinery to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted to avoid production disruption.

You will need to have worked in a similar manufacturing environment and be able to carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding and deal with machine down-time efficiently. The candidate will rotate as part of a multi-disciplinary team working across both day and night shifts. Excellent communication skills are a must as well as a flexible and proactive approach to ensure the needs of the business are met.

Complete repairs and breakdowns in a timely manner and perform RCA's (Root Cause Analysis) to ensure corrective and preventative actions are completed. Maintain the highest standards of housekeeping. Work closely with the Engineering Manager and the Manufacturing Managers. Be part of an Engineering team dedicated to providing a world class service. In the future support and mentor Electrical Apprentices on site.

About you:

  • Must be fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Excellent I.T Skills
  • Relevant degree and a good practical working knowledge is essential
  • Minimum 3 years' post qualification experience working in a fast-paced factory/manufacturing environment.
