The Tools and Materials Storeman is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining tools and equipment required for daily operations. The role ensures that stock levels are properly maintained, tools are in good working condition, compliant with calibration and statutory check requirements, and accurate records are kept supporting efficient site operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Ordering supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
- Checking orders, bills, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
- Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
- Ensuring basic maintenance standards and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Delivery of tools and equipment to site as and when required.
- Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.
- Receiving, checking, and storing tools, materials, and equipment delivered to the store.
- Issuing tools and materials to staff in line with company procedures.
- Maintaining accurate stock records (manual or electronic).
- Monitoring stock levels and informing supervisors of shortages or re-order requirements.
- Conducting regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are properly maintained, serviced, and safe for use.
- Tracking tool usage and returns, reporting missing or damaged items.
- Keeping the store area clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Assisting in preparing materials and tools for projects or daily site requirements.
- Supporting procurement by liaising with suppliers when required.
- Carying out regular audits of site tools and equipment.
- Any other ad hoc duties as required.
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Storeman.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operation.
- Practical understanding of tools and equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry software.
- Experience working with SAGE.
Essential Qualifications:
- Fluency in English Language spoken.
