We’re looking for a Jetty Operator to join our team at GAC Group in Eastham.

Job Description

The Jetty Operator is a key member of our Marine & Terminal Services department. The role involves mooring operations, managing the ship‑shore interface for the safe transfer of petrochemicals, and ensuring a safe and efficient working environment for vessels, terminals, refineries, and port teams.

Training and familiarisation will be provided. There is a six‑month probation period and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with client and company requirements, risk assessments, procedures, industry guidance, and legislation.
  • Undertake mooring and jetty operations, including manual handling and movement.
  • Perform connection and disconnection of loading arms / hoses and crane work, both shoreside and onboard.
  • Supervise the ship‑shore interface.
  • Accurately record all activities and findings during duty.
  • Travel to various locations as required to supply terminal and marine services.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to maintain good relations in person and over the phone.
  • Participate in training to further develop within the role.

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Appreciation of and commitment to a proactive safety culture.
  • Marine or terminal experience is desirable but not required; full training will be provided.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Manual handling certificate (desired but not essential).
  • First Aid certificate (desired but not essential).
  • Experience operating with OCIMF ISGOTT (desired but not essential).
