About the Role
Are you a passionate and resilient individual dedicated to supporting children with additional needs? We are currently seeking a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a highly regarded specialist school in Bradford.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with diverse learning needs.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and facilitate engaging learning activities.
- Manage challenging behaviour with patience, using de-escalation techniques.
- Assist with personal care and mobility requirements where necessary.
- Monitor student progress and provide detailed feedback to the Class Teacher and parents.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment.
Requirements
- Experience supporting children or adults with SEN (school-based or care settings).
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to student engagement.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of British Sign Language (BSL), PECS, or Makaton is highly desirable but not essential.
- A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Availability to work full-time (Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 15:30) during term time.
