About the Role

As a Supply Primary Teacher, you will work across various mainstream settings, delivering high-quality lessons and projects in EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2. You will be responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment and ensuring that all pupils make progress in the absence of their regular teacher. This role is perfect for those who enjoy variety and want to focus on the joy of teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Adapt teaching styles to meet the diverse needs of pupils within mainstream classrooms.
  • Maintain effective classroom management and follow the school's behaviour policies.
  • Provide feedback to the permanent class teacher regarding pupil progress and any issues encountered.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment for all children.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • Proven experience teaching within a UK Primary School setting.
  • A strong understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build quick rapport with staff and pupils.
  • Flexibility and the ability to travel to different schools across the Kirklees local authority.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
