Gables UK Ltd is a well‑established roofing contractor with 25 years of experience delivering roofing solutions across the commercial and industrial sectors. We are seeking a Contracts Manager to join our team, reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager. This role has overall responsibility for the management of contracts, ensuring all works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Role Description

As Contracts Manager, you will take ownership of contracts from handover through to completion. You will work closely with site teams, subcontractors, procurement, and senior management to ensure contractual, safety, programme, and budget requirements are achieved.

Health & Safety

  • Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with company Health & Safety policies
  • Produce detailed RAMS and approve subcontractor RAMS
  • Deliver site safety inductions, clearly communicating RAMS and obtaining team sign-off
  • Carry out Health & Safety audits and agreed toolbox talks
  • Report any Health & Safety breaches immediately to the Senior Contracts Manager and stop works where required

Planning & Communication

  • Attend project handover meetings with the Senior Contracts Manager, Operations Director or Estimating Team to agree scope, specification, programme and budgets
  • Develop onsite plans and set clear objectives for site teams
  • Effectively plan and coordinate projects alongside the Senior Contracts Manager
  • Order materials and plant in a timely manner through Procurement
  • Undertake regular (minimum weekly) site visits to review progress, programme planning, onsite stock, Health & Safety compliance, and site file completion
  • Communicate issues or exemplary performance to the estimating and sales teams where this may influence future business

Commercial & Budget Management

  • Agree any price work or bonuses/incentives with the Senior Contracts Manager or Operations Director prior to offering to the workforce
  • Raise subcontractor orders through Procurement
  • Check subcontractor invoices for accuracy and submit for authorisation
  • Agree variations with clients and ensure all day work sheets and timesheets are completed and signed for payment
  • Where possible, secure new business opportunities while undertaking the above duties

Reports directly to the Senior Contracts Manager.
