Construction Manufacturing company based in Doncaster / Scunthorpe is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership for the development of an environment focused on Quality. This role involves working for a very established and reputable manufacturing firm dealing with commercial joinery projects.
The responsibilities include:
- Developing the Quality Management system, including ISO14001 / ISO 9001, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Controls Plans, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) processes.
- Maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximise profit and potential and ensure efficiency.
- Managing the audit programme as well as supplier development and improvement.
- Working proactively with all Directors, Managers, Supervisors and Employees to maintain a programme of continual improvement.
- Leading a correct at source and problem-solving methodology (Lean).
- Achieving quality targets for customers and business goals.
- Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
- Implementing all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensuring compliance.
- Responding to customer complaints with containment actions, full analysis, and implementing short-term and long-term counter measures.
- Updating quality documentation and communicating lessons learned from quality concerns in new customer contracts.
- Training others in all aspects of the quality system and application procedures.
- Undertaking internal and process audits of the Quality Management System.
- Leading regular inspection meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish an action plan for improving build quality.
- Producing written reports and making presentations.
- Ensuring Health and Safety practices are observed.
Any other reasonable duties that might need to assist the company in attaining its business objectives.
